ProfiSeal floating shaft seal

ProfiSeal is in principle an external loaded axial face seal. So you have quiet a warranty that there is no usure (like by interior-loaded axial face seals) due to abrasive particles in sealing surfaces.

The entire sealing system consists of two components: The seal itself, which is protected in a strong metal housing, and the assembly flange, that, if needed, will be adjusted to the exact dimension of the stern tube end ( for an amount of 23,00 Euro ).

Although both components are rigidly connected with the stern tube, ProfiSeal is able to take in limited measure radial and axial clearance .

Further components are the pneumatic stop safety device, which makes possible to remove the outside part of the seal without water can penetrate into the ship.

If the Stern tube is only insufficiently ventilated, an additional cooling water supply must be installed. In addition, a special water inlet must be screwed in into the housing.
