Indicated performances are suitable for diesel engines, measured values at the flywheel. Other ( higher ) values are valid for gasoline engines. Information on request.
Pleasure boats: Operating with full performance, restricted by 5 % of the entire max. 400 hours per annum. Normaly not more than 80 % of full performance.
Semiprofessional use: Operating with full performance, restricted by 5 % of the entire max. 400 hours per annum. Use during longer time on not more than 75 % of maximum rotation speed.
Continuous duty: Operating with full performance, restricted by 5 % of the entire max. 2.500 hours per annum. Use during longer time on not more than 80 % of the maximum rotation speed.
It is important to synchronize the engine, the gearbox-reduction and the propeller with each other so that the engine has no difficulties to reach the indicated maximum rotation speed.
PRM Hydraulic Boat Reversing Gear Mechanisms have following qualities:
* All PRM gearboxes are equipped with a thrust bearing-unit on the outgoing shaft.
* All PRM gearboxes have a built-in help if a hydraulic trouble occurs.
* All PRM gearboxes may continuously turn onto full performance forwards or backwards.
* Reduction by going forwards is identical with reduction by going backwards.
* No difference by left or right propeller rotation.
* Due to the hydraulic kind of the gear, the operating is very slight.
* You need only one oil type on board because all PRM gears need only ordinary engine oil.
From PRM 500 to the biggest model, all gearboxes can be purchased with a Power Take Off, so that you can take 29,5 HP per 1000 rpm from the engine.
Because of the short mounting length and the various models, you will always get the possibility to use the available engine room optimally.
At switched-off engine the prop shaft may rotate without any limitation, it is a reason why PRM gearboxes are also very popular by sailboat owners.
